I can see how the blogs work for the podcast, I dont source mine there, I use the podcast link on the main page.
I really dont see the advantage of using this for outreach, I still think a club events forum would be better, so I'm sticking to the threads in the clubs announcements/new forums, as non obvious as they are to a new user who'd have to go digging to find them.

As i mentioned in the first post I think it should be aimed at people who stumble onto the site looking for info on what an astronomy club can do for them
"If interested community groups stumble onto the site, then it gives them an idea of what is possible and may encourage partnership with IFAS clubs."
We all know where to find out what other clubs are doing, as dave says it is in the announcements section, but for first time visitors, scout groups, youth clubs, they wont find it, if it is buried in the boards.
