Change of SAC website address was created by dave_lillis
Hi All,
Can you please change any links you may have in your links/websites for our new address.
www.shannonsideastronomyclub.com

We had to change the name as we were having nothing but trouble with our old hosting provider so we decided to cut our losses and move on.

Done.

Just one point though, you should never loose control of a domain because of a problem with a hosting provider. You should be able to transfer the domain out to your new provider.

It really depends. Some people still go for those all in one companies like One and one, who offer domains and hosting packages. If you lose your hosting over a payment issue or whatever, you aren't able to log in to change the DNS settings for the domain.
Domains can be lost in loads of ways. I lost one of mine when my registrar went bust and stole my money (registerfly.com) and now there are loads of lawsuits filed against them. The domain was eventually salvaged and transferred to a new company but they want more money to renew it, even though it was already renewed not once but twice for the same date. Decided to just scrap it. From now on only going with quality registrars and my usual server.

Our problem is that the person who organized it is no longer in the club and we couldn't reach him to get him to release it, so there you go.

That's really unfortunate. Always a pitty to loose a shorter domain for a longer one :(

We considered SAC.com but that could mean just about anything.
