Carolyn Porco in Dunsink tonight reminder

sorry I had to ring them but I couldn't wait for a reply
as I had to square s few things away to be free for this
and I was not sure from your post what was happening.

Basically,
they are now at capacity for the main room (60 people)
But they are going to open the long room for us
(there are a number from SAC going, she listed out the names)
in the exhibition room (standing only) they will relay the
images and her voice.
(I requested a chair for you hoppy )

By all accounts it's a great lecture,
I'm really looking forward to it!

OK guys and girls , BCO are happy to have more people attend Carolyn's talk on Friday.
However it is standing room only at this stage and not in the main room.

You must ring BCO at 021 435 7917 to get on the list , if you are not on the list you will not get in, or e mail info@bco.ie

Just to correct an urban myth there, Members of BCO get priority booking for tickets not members of astronomy clubs.

All are welcome but you must contact BCO at this stage and not just arrive.

A great night.... and the most people I have ever seen at an astronomical event. Carolyn's talk was terrific and thought provoking...You could hear a pin drop....if you were inclined to drop one....:dry:

It would be very tough going standing in crutches for 2 hours
but with the offer of a chair, I'll probabily still go,
They did say club to me, altough they didnt say which one they meant and I didnt ask, not that it matters.

If you want, throw the Obsessionator into the back
of the Jeep and if you sit into the UTA I can
slew you in the right direction. :laugh:

5 members of DAS went to the talk in Blackrock Friday night. It was a fantastic event and we all really enjoyed it. Dr. Porco could have filled the rooms twice over I'm sure.
