Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi all
Does anyone want to take a chance to get some observing done at Ballyraemon tonight? The forecast calls for partial cloud and cold conditions, mist later in the night.
If anyone's interested the meeting place is at Healy Pottery at eight.

Is there anyone heading up? Don't want to pack up the car and be the only one.

There doesn't appear to be any takers, perhaps another night.

Hi all
I was out for a hike up the Sugarloaf this morning with the cub scouts and the council have constructed a new car park at the base. It is uneven ground made of loose gravel, you know the sort, there is no trouble for tripods, but there is a one corner where us dob users can set up, it might not be exactly dead level, but will be perfectly adequate.
There is a farmhouse on the opposite side of the road, perhaps four hundred metres away as the only potential source of light I could see.
It might be worth considering as an observing site. There is no gate by the way.
