Al et al,
Please note that we will be experiencing a change in time due to summer daylight savings prior to the eclipse and, as a result, the times described above should be moved up by one hour. In other words, first contact should be 12:36 and not 11:36 local time.
Anyone wishing to travel to the Greek isle of Kastelorizo which lies 2 km from the Turkish coast is most welcome. I will be there with many friends and would love to see many of my Irish friends on Greek soil as well.
Clear skies for the eclipse!
Anthony.

hi Anthony,
certainly seems like a plan to meet up. We have hired a car from Monday to Friday so if the other guys are interested, we could drive to Kas and get a boat across (or if it's easier visa/passport-wise, we could meet in Kas?) I was looking at pictures of the island on one of the tour operators web sites and it is particularly beautiful.
we could chat over the next couple of weeks about the chances of meeting somewhere.
best wishes . . . and clear skies for March 29th!
John

Hi John,
Given that we all possess EU passports, your entry to the island is a non-issue from a visa point of view.
I will be on Kastelorizo from March 27th to 29th with a possible extension to March 30th. It would be a real treat to meet and I sincerely hope it does happen. I will also be able to provide views of Sol through my filtered AP160 (no charge  ).

PS. I will also have my TeleVue Pronto with Coronado SM60/BF10 in action and for use before/during/after the eclipse for anyone wishing to have breathtaking views in h-alpha!

This might be a great idea, I'd be game for going if there was a group going.

Gentlemen,
As for Seanie, bring him along only if it is absolutely necessary to do so. In fact, get him drunk the previous night so that he will accidently sleep in the following day when you leave.
I am sure you know the routine thereafter .... "we called your room so many times but no answer".
Anthony.
