Congratulations to Michael O'Connell! was created by dmcdona
Well, October 2010 is turning into probably one of the most productive months ever for Amateur Astronomy in Ireland. This is becoming a fantastic year for all of us and we should all be proud of the amateur work being carried out here.

So, I'm thrilled to tell you that Michael O'Connell has been awarded the status of an Observatory Code from the International Astronomical Union Minor Planet Center.

Astroshot Observatory is now officially I87.

Warm congratulations Michael from all your friends and colleagues here on the IFAS boards. Yet another major distinction for Irish Amateur Astronomy and a personal achievement for yourself. Your hard work, dedication and commitment continues to reap rewards - we wish you many more.

There are now 11 official observatories on the Island of Ireland.

Any takers for the 12th (and get the ROI into double figures)?

Dave
