Bray Boys Solar Drawings feature on SDO NASA site today was created by DeirdreKelleghan
Hi there everyone
I just got a message from NASA to tell me that all three boys winning drawings from St Cronans Boys National School that took part in my workshop are now featured on the Front page of the Solar Dynamics Observatory main site.
Am thrilled for the boys and the school.

Congratulations Deirdre.
The thrill of viewing the sun, the excitement of learning, and the fun of painting, is a fantastic combination, and produced wonderful results.
I have taken the liberty of passing the URL for your blog site to the Science teacher at my local National School.

Wowzaa!! Those are some gifted young artists in Cronans !! Getting their drawings on the Nasa website will no doubt encourage them in their general art endeavours as well is foster an ongoing interest in Astronomy. Two birds with one stone !!
I haven't seen the Sun yet in whitelight never mind H-Alpha. I'll have to get me a look-see through your PST one of these days Deirdre : cheer:

Wonderful news! What a thrill it will be for them to see their pictures being used by NASA. This is real astronomy outreach, creating the future astronomers of tomorrow (amateur or professional). Well done on all your work in this regard Deirdre! Kudos!

Congratulations to the boys from St Cronans. I went to school there (many years ago) and we never did anything like this. Well done Deirdre.
