Wicklow observing tonight?

Anyone interested in an observing session in Wicklow tonight? The weather is due to clear up and the moon will set around midnight. Tom Jones is playing in Marlay Park, within earshot of my house, so I need an excuse to get as far away as possible.

I'd love to go up but I'm not sure it's going to clear. I'd be more than willing to wait and see closer to the time. Maybe check back here at about 10pm?

The Northside of Dublin is completely clear now, but the clearance is moving really slowly. I don't know when it may extend as far as Sugarloaf. What do you reckon Sean?

Hi mike Not so sure. Clear right over head here in lucan but it's moving slowly. Yes, the mountains are covered as far as I can see. Want to leave it tonight and maybe get a few people out next week (or whenever we are reasonably confident of some clear skies)?

Cool mon. Sitting out the back at the moment and it looks beautifully clear actually. But I've already opened a beer and also, when I mentioned about going out observing tonight, the wife gave me the evil eyes (I've to be up early tomorrow to set up garden for my sons birthday)

Prob best not to go out. I might get the binoculars out tonight and try again to get her into astronomy (it's like trying to convince the pope that snake handling is the true religion)
