Now you've got us curious.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

It doesn't matter whether I bring it or not. Just having it is all that matters

Hi Pat,
We are gathering at sugar loaf car park, if you don't know where it is I can put up directions or even we can meet up somewhere on N11 and then you can follow us.

Pat,
The location of the Sugarloaf Car-park is on this page third down.
Nerro - the IAS used to meet up at Healy's Pottery outside Kilmacanogue if that's of any use. It's first on the page.
Michael.

Would Love to attend but don't think I can. This thread reminded me though of somewhere I found when playing with GoogleMaps.
goo.gl/maps/on1NB
Is a large flat hardcore surfaced area with clear horizons to the east south and west over the wicklow mountains and with trees behind your back to the north. Up Military road opposite the gate to the Luggala estate.
Its private land with a locked gate as far as I can see from streetview. Its being used by the film crews for that Viking Docudrama being filmed at Lough tay on the Luggala Estate at the moment. While its probably not a goer for our regular observing sessions in terms of getting permissions and a key, can you imagine a Dubin version of the Burren StarParty being held up there with all that flat hardcored car and scope space!! Think I counted 100 Vehicles in the Overhead imagery !! Imagine having a major starparty so close to Dublin and all the Dublin Astronomers in some of the darkest skies in the country and being able to bring any make of scope you wanted!!
