Thanks for the reply folks. To be honest, it wasn't a good night for stargazing. You know when you've convinced yourself that you'll be warm enough with all layers, yet you step out of your car and your face freezes over... Yep- that happened. Also, there were a lot of fires going on around the area (one huge one) and the smoke got in the way of a crystal clear sky!!
Ah we'll, we talked cosmology for about 2 hours and had a look at the beehive and another open cluster (near gemini's feet) and headed home to the safety of bed.
Hope to get out soon with everyone. I'd love to try trooperstown.
