Thanks Carl. The letter in the designation seems to depend to some extent on the latitude. G, H, I, J all seem to be roughly 200-360, but K so far seems to be 0-20 with the letters from there being filled according to latitude. So at 353 degrees I get into the Z's which is sort of the continuation of I and J.

Good God a Z code. We'll have to stop getting observatory codes in this country before they have to create a whole new alphabet. Well done Albert.

Delighted for you Albert and deserving of your commitment and hard work to astronomy and your contributions to this forum. Continued success to Cademuir Observatory in its endeavours. If I can help out in any way Al with your astronomy research just send me a message anytime.
Looks like the Irish amateur astronomy community is going from strength to strength and proving it can make valuable contributions to the pros. I guess we are well into double figures at this stage as to the amount of recognised observatory codes in all of Ireland.
Best wishes and clear skies

Well done Al,
its good incentive to join the scientific commununity.
Mike, I think there is now 13 observatory codes in Ireland.
Gook luck and clear skies.
