And the IFAS Astronomer of 2013 is... was created by Seanie_Morris
The nominations came in for the coveted IFAS Astronomer of the Year 2013 accolade, and it was a tight contest. There were 6 distinct nominees that stood out, covering a wide range of achievements and levels of commitment to Irish Astronomy. In all, it really is very hard to identify one particular person who has excelled above all others, so many people in Ireland deserve the award.
However, there can only be one winner...
This year's winner is rewarded to this person for creating an easy to access online astronomy shop and his unwavering advise on buying a telescope and helping fellow astrophotographers.*
The IFAS Astronomer of the Year 2013 is Carl O'Beirnes.
Well done Carl, this is richly deserved recognition from your peers of your commitment to Irish Astronomy over the years.
Congratulations!
Seanie Morris,
IFAS Chairperson
