Those pics really capture how much smaller Mercury is compared to Venus, I remember the Venus transit vividly and Venus looked alot bigger in the images.
Did you see the equipment setup, thats one heavily loaded scope !!

Hi all,
This photo becomes more interesting as time goes on. As "pmgisme" pointed out, it may be a first. I have emailed Fred about it and await his response. Does anyone recall a photo of Mercury, or a planet for that matter,in front of a solar prominence being published/taken before?
It would be nice if this was a first and Fred got the credit for it.
I will let you know what Fred's thoughts are on the matter.
