Urgent - Moon and Uranus

Not for Ireland unfortunately Trevor.

The IOTA page at www.lunar-occultations.com/iota/2006planetsbymoon.htm mentions it's visible from NW Africa and the (western) Iberian pensinsula.

Maybe there's a mixup between a conjunction and an occultation.

Uranus will be very close to the moon on Xmas day - but by the time the occulation occurs, the moon and Uranus will be below the Irish horizon.

The diagram I give on my website is for 7pm - Uranus and the Moon get closer and closer from that point on but will both set by about 10pm

Hi Dave, I rechecked carted du ciel, I had my time setting wrong, I was on BST. When corrected I now see occultation at 20.40 or so....maybe some other setting is wrong....

Something seriously wrong somewhere cos even when I change location to dublin, it is still showing occultation. Cant find the problem :evil:


Found the problem, I was using topocentric coordinates when I should have been using geocentric coordinates....:shock:

Anyway problem solved
