We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time. . . .

Nice improvement Trev!
The hue to me looks off a bit..
a little too much green or maybe its the saturation.
The smaller image looks better as it appears sharper to the eye.
A trick to make Saturn in the smaller image appera bigger is to
create a new photo in photoshop or the like around the same
size as the larger one.
Copy and paste the smaller whole image into the middle of it then fill the
surrounding white area with an eyedroped sample of the black background
from the smaller one.
This is sort of an optical illusion I picked up in College.
It works differently in some peoples eyes but for the majority it
makes the item appear bigger.
Other than that, your focus looks perfect, you got some very distinctive banding on the planet.
The rings are closing fast don't you think!

Yep, definitely. The larger is a Mitchell 1.5x in Registax. Need to get a decent 2x barlow to stack onto the powermate I think.
Thanks,
Trev

Many thanks. It was mainly due to better conditions though.Nice improvement Trev!
They really are. They have closed so much since last year. I haven't checked but I guess they will be nearly face on next year so I'm going to view Saturn as much as possible this season. The rings are closing fast don't you think!
I messed with the levels a bit, but even the raw AVIs have a strange colour to them after conversion to standard AVI. Don't think it could be saturation though as as the image histogram never went about about 160. Will need to just do some research into it I guess. The hue to me looks off a bit..

Excellent work Trevor.
Like you say the colour is slightly off, maybe play around with the colour saturation at the end of the registax procedure to fix it.
Are the colours of the orig AVI off??, be carefull when capturing the orig AVI and make sure that the auto colour on the camera is not messing it up for you.
