The problem is though, that the very people that need to read this booklet the most are the same kind of people who will throw it in the nearest bin without ever having read it.

I can't argue with that, unfortunately...

My biggest issue with the book is the total waste in it. Why does it have to be glossy card? What's wrong with paper? I was really pleasently surprised by the Lisbon booklet. Such a contrast.

Warfare? Emergencies? A 3 page thread to do little with Astronomy?

The title says it all really - shame its not in the EI Emergency Preparednness booklet. Sniff.

To get it back on topic, do you think it should be in the booklet and if so, what advice would you give?

About an asteroid impact? Well, for me, yes. But only about .5% of the world's population cares about an asteroid collision, but 99% of the world's population care about winning their local Lotto, which they statistically have a lesser chance of achieving over the former. Ironic, really.

A nuclear explosion would be akin to an asteroid impact in severity, landscape change, and atmospheric change, so why it is not included or mentioned, I don't know.

To be fair on this publication Seanie, "preparing for a major emergency" In the event of a major asteroid impact follow step 2....Defecate, leave out steps 1 and 3.....not much point
