Bored, clear sky and no DSO's was created by phoenix
Tonights moon was the only target available so I put the H alpha filter in front of the ccd and did a moon mosaic, 5 x 6 subs stitched in astroart 4, using H16 and 10" lx200. Think the lunar X is in there too.

That's pretty decent Kieran.
I bet you could sharpen it a bit more though. This would really show up the craters.

nice. the slightly out of focus edges of the moon, and sharp center give the image an effect of havig a shallow depth of field, making it look very 3dimensional. often moon images look like a bright disk but this image lets you see its a sphore. i really like it.

That's some image. I would also mention the focusing artefacts, but also the lack of brightness. I know this is probably due to such a large image (well, in this case, several) so naturally, the brightness goes out the window, but do you thnk Kieran it could be brightened some more? Also, why use the hAlpha filer?

Michael I increased the opacity of the sharpening layer in the PSD file to increase the sharpness.
Seanie I increased the brightness for you aswell. If you would like it in green with a cheesy smell let me know  .
The H alpha filter was purely to reduce the amount of light hitting the ccd otherwise I would just get a saturated blob.
And yeah it's a big file. The 16 bit tiff was 46mb, 8 bit tiff 9.4mb but the jpeg is only 459kb

You can push that sharpening alot more IMHO.
Something like this I reckon:

Is this any better or would you prefer it less sharp?
