The big unsharp mask by Russel Croman starts at step 13 is this link

You can do it with anything to avoid burning out the brighter zones in an image and enhancing fainter detail. You can aslo use it selectively sharpen areas.

You're ok for the cheese, there's enough of it going around here to last...
If you had taken the mosaic without the H alpha filter, and maybe used far less exposure times, would that have helped in brightness, and then maybe sharpness at all do you think?

Seanie I increased the brightness for you aswell. If you would like it in green with a cheesy smell let me know  .
The H alpha filter was purely to reduce the amount of light hitting the ccd otherwise I would just get a saturated blob.

Seanie, I had the ccd at its lowest possible exposure setting even with the H Alpha. The only thing that could improve the sharpness would be more images. I had another go on the 14th and took 30 images per frame of the mosaic and stacked only those that had a quality of 80% or better.

Personally i dont think it needs sharpening. I think it looks great just as it is.
