Let's get the scopes out! was created by flt158
Amazingly for a change, its looks like I am going to get a good observing session tonight Friday.
I have tightened up everything on the 6.2" refractor, and it is already set up in the back garden.
I aim to observe Neptune and Uranus. Then go hunting for other heavenly splendours.
Anyone else can fill us in tomorrow as to what they saw.
Aubrey.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

No -yet another evening of observing cancelled. Accuweather is now stating that it won't clear up until midnight in Dublin.
It seems that in the last couple of months, I have had only hour long sessions with the scope. I know we have had clear nights on a number of occasions; but I have not been free when this has occurred.
And I am not free for the next 3 nights.
Aubrey.

Hi Aubrey
Good nite here in Cork last nite though with some frost and very heavy dew.
Observed central star clusters Melotte 15 and IC 1848 associated with Heart and Soul Nebulae, but sky not dark enough to see Nebulae themselves.
Also observed what I see as " the stickman" open cluster Stock 2 , between Double Cluster and Heart and Soul.
For first time managed to find the Snowball Planetary Nebula in Andromeda but only through low power ,as an out of focus star ,before dew fogged up my eyepieces !
Forecast not looking great for next week.
