Last night Iwamoto was in the same binocular field as the Starfish cluster (M38) and also open cluster NGC 1907. Seems to be holding its brightness well despite being now twice as distant as it was at perihelion. And Aubrey, the striking carbon star S Aurigae was in the same field also; it varies between mags 8 and 13 and is now around mag 10. I would say observing conditions last night were the best of 2019 thus far.
