Yet another picture,
At maximum eclipse
Larger version at...

Canon 300d at ISO800, 1/125 sec Skylux and x2 barlow.
So unusual to get a clear sky for an event.... Great.

the eyes are particularly important
The clouds just rolled in here, high altitude fuzzies, but then I thought to myself that this is a good opportunity to test vignetting ang field curvature properties using the clouds, this is important for those corona shots,
There is abit in the edges, this could be compensated for using flat frames, just to prove to myself that the vignetting wasnt just natural moon brightness deminishing with distance, I took an image with the moon off center..
From the pictures of the moon with this camera, I'll be using iso 100 and speeds between 0.1 second and 1/640 of a second at the solar eclipse in 2 weeks.

Considering the drought of lunar eclipses were going to have over the next few years, its especially surprising that its clear tonight :lol:So unusual to get a clear sky for an event.... Great.

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680

Yeah, I was completely clouded out also. I did get some shots similar to Dave's cloudy ones, but the cloud cover here was a lot heavier, and no detail whatsoever visible.
A pity 'cause it looks better than I expected it to be. The pics all clearly show darkening in the southern limb.
