coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680
Dawn Slither was created by martinastro
Had a good clear night again last night. Spent all of the short night comet hunting with the 16" and watching for Noctilucent clouds even though i got soaked by perioidic short showers. I was going to call it a night at 3am but decided that i would wait up to try for a shot of the Moon and Venus before dawn. I walked up to the site with camera and tripod and waited from my strategic position looking east. My goodness there was one big very slow moving cloud bank that never seemed to move. I waited and waited and felt like giving up. I was tired, cold and sick but i held out for what seemed like forever until i see a tiny red spot in a clearing gap. It was the horn of the moon. Eventually i got a superb view of the thin cresent moon at 04.30 (Venus was behind clouds) and got several images. It was dawn, the birds were singing and i went to bed a very happy and satisfied observer!..

I really like the first one Martin, the cresent seems to sink or blend into the blue sky, lovely effect!
