Watched it here too from Tralee. I tried some imaging so this still will have to do till we get Daves full animation

nice pic, you can just make out the moon on the edge of the planet. you also picked up some nice detail/colouring on the NEB

Nice image Michael, I was surprised at how difficult Io was to see on the disk of the planet, I've seen transits before of the other moons and they were definitely more noticable.
BTW, I wouldn't be expecting any great shakes from what I got last night, the seeing was not as good as in previous nights, so now I'm off for a few hours to process them.

What size of telescope would you need to see a transit. I have a Celsetron 6" and I have never seen a transit. Maybe I'm not trying hard enought.
