Thanks for the replies guys, at least I know now what I saw, it was quite big at the head and I can't say it really looked anything like venus, much bigger diameter, it wasn't as bright either, about four seconds in duration and it definitely "fizzed," have to say it was a bit of a wow moment for me, thats 2 now, saturn being the other one. Roll on more of them.
