M44 & M67

Hi there

Even though the seeing on Saturday night was pretty poor, exacerbated by that bl*%+y streetlight, I managed to get a couple fo sketches of Cancer's two Messier objects.

I scanned them onto the computer and processed them in Photoshop.

Nice ones, Paul. I like the fuzzy stars. Did you use the blur tool in Photoshop for that or something else?

BTW, if you scale your images down to 800 pixels wide (or narrower), you can include them directly in your post by enclosing the URLs in image tags:

I've gone ahead and included one of them (even though it's 50 pixels over the size limit). Hopefully the mods won't spank me.

Thanks for the modification Jeff, that certainly makes the image look much better.

The fuzzy stars are "drawn" by using the brush tool in Photoshop, by selecting the size spot you want using the menu, there are both sharp edged spots and the fuzzy variety.

Nice trick (the brush dots for stars). Do you just dot them in over the scanned-in stars, or do you erase the originals first?
