Well done again Deirdre, to be chosen for AAPOD of the MONTH is a great achievement.
However I'm surprised to see that you are going to accept that prize. I figured you would agree with Paul when he said that:
"I for one would opt for the sketch over the ccd image, think of the time and dedication to sit at the eyepiece and record all the details that you see, sometimes on very cold nights. Sitting at a computer in your warm living room while your computer controls your scope can't compare." :smashpc:
If you are having second thoughts about remote viewing using state of the art equipment at a pristine location, I'm sure one of those lazy, home comfort-loving, imagers would step up to the plate.
Mike.

Oh thanks again , and I do agree with Paul, there is nothing as challenging or as satisfying as sketching in the real world in real time. However people voted for my sketch over images so I must honor that and give it a go. Also remote viewing is often used for to give school children a go at observing , so this is one way to gain some experience of how it all works.
It would be nice to draw a nebula or other object from the Southern Hemisphere in real time from the screen , but am not sure if that is practical. I have no interest in imaging, but will let you know how I get on and if I have any spare hours left over maybe I will give them away.
