Conjunction of Venus, Saturn & Mars was created by JohnONeill
Hi,
Caught sight of the conjunction last night (10 Aug 2010) at 20.50 EDT here in Ma. While Venus (mag -4.3) was brilliant, Saturn (mag 1.1) and Mars (mag 1.5) were very faint to the naked-eye. It was murky along the horizon.
I was wondering was anything special in the sky happening about now, no bright comet, no bright nova, and then I remembered the conjunction!
clear skies, John

I'm hoping to get a shot of the conjunction with the moon and planets tonight as their altitude in the sky is much higher here. The weather is cr*p though: angry: .

Apart from Venus I did no visually make out the other 2 the past 2 evenings. Hoping tomorrow will be less murky and I might try and get a shot of them altogether.

I managed to see it visually thrugh broken cloud but not enough time between clouds to take a picture. Clouded out yesterday.

Well, this evening was perfect but from my suburban location I was hampered by trees. Coupled with some friends that came over I couldn't just up and leave either.
