Hi guys,

Great shot John. So that's one way to get clear skies!

The photos that Ronan is talking about were taken by a guy named Brendan Diver and are obviously light pollution. The photos are not on my Facebook page but I have just now posted a link to the guys photo album which would be a much more appropriate place to discuss the photos rather than on my page as the photos have nothing to do with me.

yea, I just had a look at the pics, no way are those auroae, those are pics of light polltion, poor guy :angry:

Yes, you see what I mean now Dave - faint and fading away at that stage but most probably auroral - there's no source of LP northwards until Islay and Jura 70 miles away.

Those from Iceland directly overhead are fantastic, and just look at the exposure times!

Our day will come, no doubt!
