My 110mm has a focal length of 649mm, therefore I would need a 2mm eyepiece, something I don't have, and an eyepiece that I don't think would get a lot of use.
Anyway, here's a sketch I took of the system.

Wow, Paul. What a delightful sketch! Perhaps my 3.5mm Nagler could be a help the next time we are in Sandymount. I have a 3mm Radian also for real tests like this.

Really nice sketch Paul. It captures the positions accurately so I think you can claim to have split it. It's interesting that you recorded the colours differently from me; I saw all three components as vivid yellow. Another example of how subjective, and equipment dependent, the perception of double star colours can be.

I shall always admire Paul's honesty. If it is elongated, then it is not separation. Let's help him out with our high power eyepieces.
I shall wait for Cosmos 2013 to observe Tegmine again -so I can show it to others.

I see from your posts you all had more luck than me at splitting Zeta
Cancri, tuesday was clouded out but last night was clear so I tried to
split Zeta with the 150mm reflector but no luck I could even say it was
not elongated except for very brief periods to short to count. Also the
colour to me seemed almost white with just a hint of yellow I almost thought
I was at the wrong star but I checked it in the CDSA and I was looking at the
right star, in my defence I had the scope on a old mount which was a bit shakey
I got up to 225x which I would have thought was enough to elongate it thought.
Lovely sketch Paul was the colour in the eyepiece as strong.

Good of you to try to split Zeta Cancri, Pat. Have you a more powerful eyepiece than 225X?
I was thinking of looking at it again tonight, but this broken cloud won't shift. I get 225X from a 5mm Nagler -focal length 1121mm.
