I have reasonably clear skies right now in south Dublin (7.40pm). So Mike, Paul, Pat and Bob, let's all go out and see if we can see Zeta Cancri as a triple all on the same night.
My scope is already up in the back garden.
First stars appear at 8.30.

Nice night last night, with quite good seeing, and I was able to take a look at Zeta Cancri. It's a lovely system of three deep yellow stars, of almost equal brightness, two almost touching at 350x, and the third nicely separated. Best triple I can remember, thanks again Aubrey.
I spent a couple of hours scuttling about in Cancer and will post a summary this evening.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

I took the Zeta Cancri test, and failed. As I suspected, my 110mm didn't have the resolving power to split the pair. A-C was a cinch, A-B was, as I believed it would be, an elongated shape, the elongation was very well defined and it was clear that I was looking at a close double.
I took a sketch, I have yet to process it, will do so tonight, and I will post it.
I got some nice doubles in Cancer, I'll do a report sometime tonight.
Congratulations to all those who managed the feat. As I said, from a darker site I'll give it another go, I hate being the odd man out. : angry:

Try in excess of 225X, Paul. I could just about split it into 3 again last night at this power.
Meanwhile congratulations to you, Mike. Tegmine will be widening over the next 7 years.
