Seem to be pretty bright and plentiful. I wasn't counting them but noticed a very bright blue/green one just shoot down past the plough at 23:41. Very tempting to get a flask of tea and head out and watch some more. Flask of tea and a hot water bottle perhaps :)

There seems to be a lot of very bright green/blue ones being seen. I saw one around 21:00 down at Sandymount earlier.

Despite the cloud, I captured 29 meteors last night with my meteor camera, of which 23 were Geminids.
Attached are a few stills from the videos.

It should be noted that I am using a relatively simple cctv camera and a nice 12mm f0.8 lens so I am only covering a small area of sky.
Would be great to see others here come on board with similar systems.
Once two people monitor the same portion of the sky, the data can be shared and orbits for the meteors traced back out into the solar system.
Software can analyse the videos and determine which meteor shower it belongs to, apparent magnitude of the meteor, velocity etc.
Pretty cool stuff...
