Hi Brian - its an Astro-Physics mount - made in the USA. I was on the notification list for two years - you can't just buy these direct from AP - you have to wait on the list...

You do occasionally see them coming up on Astromart second-hand for not much less than the new price. On rare occasions you can come across a brand new one.

I won't be selling for a while...

I believe that you can get a Paramount ME fairly quickly, if you have $12500.00 plus duty plus VAT to spare. Mountain Instruments are another top-end mount supplier and I don't think they have a wait list either. Takahashi Mounts are also top end but I don't know how available they are. They're not cheap though.

I wish this weather would clear up - I still haven't had the mount out of the house yet. I had the pier set up yesterday but then it all clouded over again

Cheers

Hi Bill - don;t you know that your soup, hospitality and family are priceless? But I guess when it comes to a mount, you just gotta sell, right?

And for eveyone's information, its called 'Bob'. Kylie was my preference but I was 'told' to call it Bob... :D

And Jim - not sure what the anglegrinder/welder reference means???

If I ever get a clear sky then anyone who wants to see Bob in action would be more than welcome. Bill - you will be required to come over with Leslie and get the soup on.

Cheers

There's plenty of replies to that but probably not on this board...

Nice one!

Actually, am I right in recalling a pop video involving a scantily clad postress on one of those mechanical bulls? Was it Kylie?

We could strap her to Bob and slew around a bit for the same effect. In fact, if we had a few red torches and lasers pointers, hey presto, disco!

Better be careful about spilling the soup though...
