Please Help Me!!!

This place sells them and they have nearly $1500 off the price co theres a sale! The cheapest shipping is about $500 to ireland! So your looking at $2600 after shipping! There a supplier of celestron so they are allowed to ship anywhere!

Many US dealers sell Celestron scopes and most are selling the C11-SGT XLT around $2,000/2100. List prices are really irrelevant. I'm wondering why you believe Celestron will allow OpticsPlanet break its contract with it and ship a new Celestron scope to a destination outside the US.

Did you try and go through the checkout procedure on telescopes.com. I bought a celestron from them a few months ago and they shipped to Ireland no problem. I also just went onto the site and proceded to checkout with a C11, I just selected shipping to Republic of Ireland and it gave me the following shipping rates:

$337.94 - FedEx International Economy (4-5 business days)
$471.80 - FedEx International Priority (1-3 business days)

By the time you pay all the taxes etc it would work out to be €3250 whereas if you buy it from somewhere in the UK like www.greenwich-observatory.co.uk/

Then it works out as €2950 and as Dave said, it will be a lot closer to home in case anything goes wrong.

Green Witch are also waaay cheaper than any UK retailer for shipping scopes. Just £30 for a C10Ngt, or 10"Lxd75. And they allow Irish vat numbers too, so Its less 17.5% too. :lol:

Gordon i believe that because i was on the site and there was an option to send the celestron c11sgt to ireland! I was just thinking that celestron would probably make as much money off the private shops as they would off customers so surely the 'private' shops would have the choice to ship to ireland or not! they quoted me a price for shipping for the exact named scope to ireland!
