Who has/where is largest scope in Ireland??

I didnt know whether to put this in 'general', or 'equipment' -
But who knows what the largest scope is in operation in Ireland. Aperture wise that is.
Is it a company manufactured, or hand built scope.
And what configuration is it? Surely someone has a 20" Obsession hidden away..

I'm sure I've heard DM claim Aeye have the largest portable telescope at their star parties .... I think it's a 20". Mind you Eamon Ansbro's 36" definitely has it beat but it's not exactly portable!

I thnk that bloke in Birr has a 72". Though its not exactly portable either. Or working for that matter...

I would like to know what is the state of play with the Great Leviathan ? Will it be in working order for Whirlpool? I am writing an article and would love to have the inside track.

We were offered to apply for the tender to do some work to the scope. In particular " works in the installation of electro-hydraulics, repairs & maintenance at Birr telescope (6 FT Rosse)". So I assume moves are being made to repair it or something soon.
Basically they want hydraulics and limit switches installed to make the scope operational.
