Well Marty, its not from a lack of trying, you can only do what you can do, no point in head butting the wall, its time to send it back. :?

Dave Grennan is really the expert on these mounts.

After a three star align you can then get the mount to show you how far off the polar alignment is. If you then fix the error and realign you get very very good results.

Have you tried using accurate point mode?

Later,

Jed.

I think at this stage most people here have tried to help Marty. Perhaps it might be best to draw the line on the issue now and just send it back. No point in racking up a massive phone bill by repeatedly phoning people when all avenues have been explored. As A&S have agreed to fix it, the quickest and cheapest thing to do is just send it back and get it fixed. It seems to be a problem that requires a hands-on solution by a professional rather than a home-made fix. The sooner it's sent back, the sooner it can be repaired. Last thing you want to do is tamper with the mount and invalidate the warranty.

Cheers,

At this stage that thats the only option.

The folks here have done all they can to help, so you can be sure its not something you are doing wrong or a configuration problem. The sooner its returned the sooner you get it back!

Best of Luck,
~Albert
