I wouldn't hold me breath if I was you on getting a response from them, what are they going to say that can explain this, that maybe it's a quoted value for a 1 amp load?
For those in the know it would be pretty simple to build a regulator circuit that gives you a stabilised output voltage, maybe there is an electronic kit in maplin that can do this ? does anyone have a catalogue?
I can draw you a simple circuit diagram if anyone is interested - personally I don't think it is worth it, to give you the range of voltages quoted would cost more for parts than the total value of the power pack. Consider it a 12V only supply and don't use it for anything else and you've got a good deal.

Reading between the lines, and given that they replied to me at all, I think they are appropriately concerned...They should be concerned really

The definition of the term "without prejudice" is as follows:
"The basic meaning is 'without loss of any rights'. It is a term used when two parties are in dispute, and one makes a settlement offer to the other. It puts 'without prejudice' on its offer to make it clear that the settlement offer should not be construed as a waiver of rights. Importantly, communication marked 'without prejudice' cannot be used in evidence in court proceedings if the attempts at settlement fail and the dispute comes to court."
I think the last sentence is the one which should concern us most. Any of their replies cannot be used if someone has damaged equipment by using this power pack and goes legal with them.
Which raises another question. Has anyone damaged any equipment with these power packs? Or has this timely warning on the forum saved us all?
Yet again another reason to have these forums in the first place.
