Hi all,

Well with all the rain and the lack of stars.Out of sheer frustration I went out and spent a few more grand on astronomy equipment. I got myself a new shiny ATIK 16 HR monochrome ccd camera hope to get some nice images with it but what I hope to do is to discover new asteroids and hopefully get my Observatory code soon.

For my second purchase I got a Kendrick digifire 10 temperature sensing controller plus 2 heating straps 14" and 5" one absolutely fantastic invention goodbye to the dewy nights

and last but not least I love this. The Moonlite dual rate SCT Crayford focuser pc interface motor focus. webpages.charter.net/jlacey/images/moonlite2.png this is how simple it is to focus.

NOW all i need is a clear sky. so that is the end of my spending for this Summer. I hope to have some pictures up on webtreatz.com soon of the new equipment

Barking !
Weather like this encourages the purchase of astro accessories. I must have been affected too. In the last few months I have acquired:
2" dielectric mirror diagonal, new 50mm finderscope for the 8" meade, Kendrick dew controller with 8" and 11" dew bands, Telrad finder and two bases, just ordered the ADM bolts for the CGE pier attachment, 5mw green laser pointer (€25 on ebay), O111 and narrow band Baader filters. I'm now looking at 2" eyepieces.
If I could actually go outside and use the scopes I wouldn't have even considered the purchases.
Barking !! :!:

Thats' a scary thought....
At least I will be in Pennsylvania next Sunday during the Perseid maximum with a good chance of clear skies.
