Are you going to Pittsburgh John? If you are, Allegheny Observatory do open nights and viewing through a 13-inch refractor. Have a good trip over to PA and best of luck for the Perseids.

I'm stuck in a town called York, PA (an hour north of Baltimore MD). Only claim to fame is the Harley Davidson factory.

Once you've started something good its hard to stop.

Carl - any chance of getting the height of the 80 ED above the SCT itself.

Also does the CGE have to be pointing directly at polaris to achive polar align ???
