I was on a demolition job today and 5 computers were being dumped. I had thought about stripping out the drive motors for a dob platform but maybe I should have thought more about evil carnage

I am amazed at the lasers that can be bought on Ebay for around €25 with power outputs up to 240mW. You can get them through UK registered companies but they are shipped direct from Hong Kong. They are illegal in the UK over a certain class (must be less than 5mW I think).
Anything approaching this level of power is extremely dangerous and will cause permanent eye damage of someone is exposed to one-they should be banned.
I remember using green argon ion lasers in the past with an output of about 50-100mW. It was a requirement that you had your retinas photographed by an eye specialist both before and after usage and protective goggles were mandatory during use. Now you can get laser pointers up to 500mW which can start fires and wave them around in the open - madness.
