An accidentally self inflicted laser wound, there's something you don't see everyday.

FYI. This was taken from an extract by the US FDA. You can make up your own mind.
A laser pointers guide published by the Food and Drug Administration states that pointers above 5 milliwatts only can be sold in the U.S. for commercial uses such as land surveying. They cannot be sold as amusement or pointing devices and are subject to seizure when imported into the country:
Irresponsible use of more powerful laser pointers poses a significant risk of injury to the people exposed. Persons who misuse or irresponsibly use lasers are open to personal liability and prosecution.

Only if you are stupid enough to sit on one
Ass warnings now  its back to wet cats and microwaves
Joking aside, a 5mW green laser point is very unlkely to cause any harm to the eye (I have one myself and they are really useful). Something with 50 -100 times that power poses a risk of potential injury. Like anything else, if they are used responsibly they are perfectly safe. Young kids have these things.
You wouldn't give your 10 year old offspring the keys of your car....

Well,I think its a matter of responsibility, if you're stupid/clumsy enough to blind yourself, that's your problem. I have a medium power laser and use it responsibly.
