A 0.9 angstrom filter is a fairly wide filter, it would be interesting to see how this would compare to a narrow band Coronado/solarscope scope.
Obviously the center axis filter is not for a SCT as the secondary mirror would block most of the filter.

What this does offer is a "relatively" cheap way of observing the Sun with decent aperture. Would be great to try this out on my refractor.

Might this be prompted by Meades discontinuation on certain Coronado PST models of late?

Be careful to read the small print. Thousand Oaks Ha filters have been around for a long time, yet haven't had the same success as Coronado SolarMax, possibly because of the wider bandwidth or the way in which the HAU affects focal ratio. Before you buy one find out why.

Up to now, they were 1.5A, which is very wide in comparison to Coronado. This is a new product they are offering.
