On the offchance that this is the solar warning of the getting started instructions you can turn these off in the Utilities->Display settings.

Hi tony
I think pressing the scroll up and scroll down arrows will adjust the speed of the text scrolling across the autostar display.
You could also check the connections between the autostar and the base to see it is clicked in properly and the pins are nice and clean and making contact.
However it sounds like a power problem to me and you need to invest in a power tank if you are relying on batteries as they will always let you down every time especially with goto scopes.
Heres why....your scope has things called encoders which are basically little wheels with slits in them connected to the drive gears in the telescope. A little led shines through the slits and a light sensitive diode picks up the resulting flashes of light and counts them. This is how it knows how far it has turned and how far it needs to go to arrive at a target object. Clever eh....
If there is a shortage of power the LED isnt as bright as it should be and the light sensitive diode dosent pick up the flashes so well. In extreme cases the low powere will cause the autustar to loose contact with the motors and then it basically looses its way usually slewing in a random direction at maximum slew speed.
Hope this helps.

Hi Tony, as the guys said, hopefully it will be the power, cold kills batteries, and although those clear winter nights are great for seeing, batteries usually don't last long.
If
it power you need, get the powertank, I have the 17Ah one, it has,nt let me down yet

Tony did you check the plug?
Its amazing how many people dont check plugs before operating elecronics.
