That would probably do it. I don't suppose that they are available in carbon fibre at a reasonable price?

It could be the big lump of metal im sitting on..............also known as a wheelchair.

I doubt it to be honest, its not like its charged or anything.
If something like that affected it then celestron have a big problem on their hands.
What is the stated tolerance interms of its accuracy, it might be something mad like 2 or 3 degrees?, it might say it in the manual.

Do you mean the scout or wheelchairs?

Actually i reckon my chair is carbon fible. Its too light to be metal.

I doubt it to be honest, its not like its charged or anything.

No but i am. I'm always getting zapped by static when i'm in the chair if i touch anything metal.

I dont really get a magnetic error on mine.........unless i'm inside pointing it out a window.

I wonder would any electronics in your house near you
cause it? Even the wiring around you?
I'm guessing they designed the thing for outdoors use...

Yep electrical wiring etc will mess it up and central heating radiators (even aluminium window frames). I use it outside......(cuz it said to do so in the manual)........but sometimes i just wanna try and get a GPS lock for fun indoors.

Doesnt seem much point in aiming it skywards...............nothing there but clouds.
