I found the box he used!, I'll need something like this for the battery and eyepieces.

Hey,
Sorry I was wrong about the filtering, The issue is with inverters for 12VDC to 240VAC conversion.
Battery power is the best power source for digital as it has no noise.
Where as anything AC powered will always have some noise even if converted to DC

Hopes (of a cheap Battery) gotten up' by Darragh

I'll be looking for a power source myself in the next few months myself for some of the mods I have planned for my Orion XT12i.

Anyway, after some thinking I went for the metal stanley box.
www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=110973
The way I figure it is that this can hold/carry every accessory and eyepiece and the power all in one go. I'll wire it up so that it keeps the eyepieces/filters warm also, stops them from dewing over, those 2 drawers will be the job for the filters and smaller eyepieces. The bottom section will be for the battery and voltage/current meters, switches and 12v cig lighter sockets. The top box is for bigger eyepieces and binoviewers and the top lid can act like a small tabletop for those bigger atlas's.
As it stands at the moment, I use 2 foam lines cases and a small table and I'd need to make up a battery box anyway, so this thing replaces 4 separate bulky parts.
You might find one of these is just the job for you to!.

Thats was my understanding also, the sine wave is not clean and can be full of harmonics. The issue is with inverters for 12VDC to 240VAC conversion.

That toolbox looks the biz Dave. Will you have to change your car to carry both this and the Obsessionator?
