RCX400 now renamed LX400 was created by dave_lillis
Seems like Meade has come to an settlement with its RC rivals.

The RCX name and RC referances are now gone, about time this was sorted.

Reading the column by Rick Fienberg very carefull suggests to me that Meade lost this one.

Surprised it dragged out so long. A few changes still needed on the Meade website www.meade.com/rcx400/index.html

Meade retain the right to say that the 'formerly known as RCX400" delivers RC 'like' performance which is a bit like saying an achro delivers near apo 'like' performance. They do not have to state exactly what the missing factor is in the advertising.

Have to agree with Anto. Meade got creamed

Lads,
Seriously.
Where do you think Meade are headed?
I personally think the top of the range class scopes are brilliant but
I just do not have any confidence in that company any more.

With the move to the fareast and some of Lidl's greatest offers I think Meade may be cost cutting to the point that they cut their own throats. As a Meade user I have always found so much lacking in the design, mechanics etc that future products would make me have serious questions. Meage still do not have a mount that can compete with the CGE. Instead of investing research into an RC bluff they should have tried for a very good cheap mount to compete with Celestron.
