Low Profile Focuser

I have considered moving the main mirror, but I think I'll try the low profile focuser option first - a lesser of two evils I think, and anyway I'd benefit from the finer adjustments that a 10:1 focuser would give.

When you get the new focuser do you still plan in adjusting the focuser manually to find optimum focus for astrophotography or have you any plans to link a motor up to it and let the computer find optimum focus?

I think I'll stick to the manual focussing for a while - despite the jiggling problems this causes. I can see where you're going with this, a JMI focuser could be upgraded later to motor use. Still its useful to take things a step at a time (it helps the learning and experience which is always useful in other situations later), and budget may not stretch at the moment to a motorised focuser. No worries I'll work my way through it.

I have ordered the GSO 10:1 low profile focuser mentioned in the link above. I'll let you know how I get on fitting this and using it once it arrives.
