Which is the better product Losmandy or ADM (
www.astro.premcom.com/ADM/
The reason I ask is that there is a reasonable price difference in favour of ADM as far as I can make out

Joanna,
I've used both ADM and Losmandy for guide scope rails.
ADM offer rails in a variety of widths and can be substantially cheaper alright with some products. Of course, it depends on what size scope you want to carry as you might be better with a larger rail if it's a big scope you plan to piggyback.
What sort of combo are you planning?

William Optics ZS80mm piggybacked on an 11" Celestron. I was also wondering if the rail could be used just to mount the 80mm on a CG5 mount on its own??
I was thinking of getting the Mini Dovetail System www.optcorp.com/product.aspx?pid=9708 with the accompanying 100mm rings as the Euro is doing the so well against the dollar.
Also what are the chances of getting caught for customs for something like this

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi Joanna
To the best of my knowledge if a product is under €170 then you're not liable for tax, I'm prepared to be contradicted if I'm wrong. What's the shipping on this? If it's available from closer to home, ie. the UK or Europe then it might be cheaper.

It's about $61.00 The whole lot is working out at about $210 give or take.
I'm also wondering is it possible to get the dovetail made yourselve as I work in an aluminium company if you knew the spacing for the screwholes etc.?? I couldn't find ADM in Europe but that's not saying they're not there.

I've got caught a few times for less than this (closer to $90). An Post has tightened up things considerably and the courier companies now make a profit from it so will definetly try and catch you.
