However I successfully used the SPC900 to auto-guide and got some nice guided shots with the SLR mounted on the scope

Was this with an unmodified sp900?

Hey guys, Thanks for all the help and input

Streve: I found your story of your astrophotography very enjoyable thank you for posting! i also have a wedge but the equipment is very awkward with it on and it take SO long to assemble!

I very much appreciate your kind offer! But i believe i will be buying an SPC900 at some stage anyway because there so versatile! Also i have a DSI coming my way for a while! :D

Does anyone know where i can get an SPC900??? Ive seen them alright but ive seen ones advertised as 'fun' models etc!

Will be to arrive where we started

I got mine from an online store in Germany for about 80 euro.
But I see them cheaper on ebay now. (for around 30)
If I were buying one now I would email someone selling one in the US and explain what I wanted it for and
that all I needed was the camera.
This way they might (should) reduce the postage costs.
I have the instillation CD I can send to you.

Just an idea.

David

Yes my spc900 is unmodified. I use PHD to autoguide. Also note I'm rather early in the learning process here :)
