Fair play to ye for lugging that gear up to the park for all
to take a look at the Moon.
It's great to to see people sacrificing their own time
just to spread the word of astronomy.
9000 members in a year!
Whoa! Thats huge!
Thats a lot of stamp lickin to send out the mags to!

Hi Keith,
Why go through all that expense when you can use a simple projector for outreach on to a white screen any scope will do then. So it's scope web cam projector to screen. Have a look at this video www.astronomy.ie/video/CapitalD_080403.php forward it on to 3min or so. and you will see a webcam demo on big screen by Eamonn O'Fearchain, And the way people love it.
Carl.
So for the record once again, I am not saying clubs should buy 16" Lightbridges and equipping them with servocats and argo navis and touchscreen panel PC's and stellarvue finders and micro projectors. I am saying I intend to buy these and do some of these mods myself, "Oh and look what else I came across...€350 pocket projectors, Hey that is something clubs could think about"
Ah Ok that was the expense I was taking about.
Carl.

Hi Frank,
I think that is a mis quote. I think she meant to say 9000 since it was founded.

Jaysus, I'm not that disconnected from the financial realities of club finances!
Now on the other hand, if I win the euro millions my first charitable donation will be a Lightbridge 16", Servocat/argo, Touchscreen PC, Stellarvue F80, Mallincam, Wiimote, Microprojector for every club in the country!....and one for everyone in the audience too

Brand new 16inch Lightbridge purchased for €1103 (€500 under budget)
Picked it up from the An Post sorting office today.
Please excuse the decor and state of the place. Moved in a few weeks ago and renovation hasn't started yet.
