Calibos, Dude: the lights rock!
(See if you can dig up some Battlestar Galactica soundtrack for the Cylon eyes going back and forth.)

Frank --
Astro-Physics has been shipping Digital Sky Voice with their GoTo mounts for some time. It needs a computer hooked up to the mount though, and since I'm visual-only I've never bothered.
Dave McD might have tried it out....
Cheers,
-- Jeff.
Dave has his own version employed for some time.....
"Slew it over to M51 there Fiona"
Good value too from what I hear...

LMAO!!
Dave and Jeff. By Your Command!
BTW Jeff, do you want the Original Galactica Cylon theme or some beautiful Bear McCreary orchestral piece from the newer series?
My brother actually came up with a suggestion for the opening piece of music for the eventual Big reveal finished scope vid. "Enterprise clears Moorings" from the Star Trek Wrath of khan soundtrack.

Actually,
in fairness,
wouldn't voice recognition be actually very useful
in the dark!
No fiddling around with keypads or buttons.
I'm starting to think it's a brilliant idea!
I don't know why someone has not thought of it before to be honest.
Frank and Jeff,
All joking aside, you are right Frank! And Jeffs info would show its not beyond the realms of possibility that someday some planetarium software with ascom scope control might include it in a future update. It'd probably be a Premium package though like The SKY or SNP because isn't there a licence fee for the voice recognition tech. ie. I can't imagine the free Planetarium software guys ever including it.

If I get a scope with voice recognition with talk back responses, I'll be setting it up to use "Mr T"s voice and responses (like my GPS TOMTOM)
"That object's below the horizon, fool !" :silly:
